About me

I’m a Transformative Coach, mentor, and body confidence advocate with over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, and lived experience of the very struggles I now help my clients overcome.

For years, I battled disordered eating, body dysmorphic disorder, and the endless cycle of diets and guilt. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, ashamed, and at war with food and your body. As someone who is neurodivergent, I also understand how overwhelming meal prep, food choices, and daily self-care can feel when your mind is constantly busy or exhausted.

My journey

One of my earliest memories is hiding under my grandparents’ bed on Christmas Day, secretly eating chocolate. I was no more than four years old, but I already felt the shame of being out of control of my eating. That moment was the beginning of a lifetime of ‘guilty’ memories around food: secret eating, losing control once I started, and raiding cupboards after meals out.

By my teens, I was journalling, tracking food, making posters … anything to remind myself that sugar and refined carbs left me feeling awful in my body and mind. But no matter how much I ‘knew better’, I couldn’t seem to get control of my eating. At the same time, I was developing painful struggles with my appearance and body image, and the cycle of shame, guilt, and dieting only grew stronger.

On the outside, I looked like the picture of health and success. I was active, loved dance and sports, and whilst studying for an English degree, I also qualified as a personal trainer. But on the inside, I wrestled with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and the crushing pressure of diet culture. As a fitness professional, I believed I was supposed to have it all sorted: I was supposed to love exercise all the time, eat a perfect diet, never give in to cravings and never lose motivation. The fact that none of this was true made me feel like a fraud.

The turning point came when I realised true health isn’t about rigid rules or punishing yourself into a smaller body. It’s about creating a life that supports your mind, body, and spirit. I began tuning into my own body, letting go of food guilt, and moving in ways that brought me joy. I stopped listening to what the fitness industry told me I ‘should’ do and instead became interested in psychology, brain health, neurodiversity and metabolic health. The more I learned about these different interconnected subjects, the more I came to realise that my struggles with sugar addiction and ‘all or nothing’ eating patterns were not my fault and that the one-size-fits-all healthy living advice we have all been fed is just not true.

As I healed, I noticed just how many others were silently struggling too. I had always encouraged kindness, self-compassion, and realism in my fitness training but I wanted to help people on a deeper level. And so, I retrained as a Transformative Coach and now combine science-backed nutrition, psychology, and coaching with lived experience, compassion, and creativity.

My approach

I work with people who feel stuck in diet cycles, food addiction, or body shame. People who are tired of ‘starting over’ every Monday. People who long to feel free in their bodies and minds.

Drawing from both my personal journey and my professional experience, I understand the hurdles that can make lasting change so difficult. Confusion, overwhelm, lack of confidence, low energy, social expectations, perfectionism, and self-sabotage are just some of the challenges that hold people back.

Breaking free from lifelong food noise, beliefs, habits, and addiction is not an easy thing to do. I know from experience that the support and understanding of others is invaluable on this journey. That’s why I do this work.

My mission is simple: to help you reclaim your relationship with food, build self-acceptance, and create a life that feels right for you.

Outside of coaching

Outside of coaching, I’m usually scribbling away at a story, dancing around the house, or lost in a book that most likely involves magic, romance, or both. I write fantasy, sci-fi, and romance novels, and I’ve also published and illustrated several children’s books. Creativity isn’t just a passion for me; it’s essential to my mental health and a big part of how I connect with the world.

I’m a lifelong learner (my husband has become very skilled at talking me out of new courses), and I’m currently learning aerial hoop, because apparently dancing on the ground wasn’t quite enough!

I volunteer with the BDD Foundation, and I’m a passionate advocate for equality, the environment, and human rights – topics I can and will rant about if given half a chance.

I’m a big fan of rom-coms, anything Austen-related, Bridgerton, and flashy, feel-good musicals. I can’t start my morning without a ritualistic coffee, and I can’t do chores without a podcast or story playing. Daily dog walks have become a new, non-negotiable joy, and if I’m not snuggled up in my pyjamas at home, I’d probably like to be on a mountaintop or anywhere with a big view and fresh air.
